Starting in September 2008 and ending in September 2009, ARIES-TM, Timișoara Branch of Romanian Association for Software and Electronics Industries runs a Phare CBC financed project, titled Software for Competitive SMEs, in conjunction with it's Serbian partner "Mihajlo Pupin" Technical Faculty of Zrenjanin.
Timișoara Software Business Incubator and Zrenjanin Business Incubator are acting as associates within this project that aims to improve the usage of software applications by SMEs in the smaller towns of the Romania-Serbian border region.
Within the project, specific activities will be developed in order to increase the visibility of software developing companies in the local economy and to facilitate their direct and mediated interaction with potential clients. Inter alia, a web platform presenting local software providers' capabilities will be accesible on the internet, a series of one day events will be organized in 5 Romanian and 3 Serbian towns, with the participation of local non-IT and IT companies' representatives and two conferences on economic benefits of increased business software usage.
