Timisoara Software Business Incubator partnered during the second half of 2009 with YES Foundation, an entrepreneurship promotion organization from Skopje, Macedonia in order to generate an evaluation on investor readiness of SMEs in South East Europe. YES Foundation effort to collect data from 145 start-ups and about 70 professionals involved in support for entrepreneurs and early stage investor resulted in the brochure titled Bridging the Gap-Access to Risk Finance for Early-Stage SMEs in Southeast Europe.
Within this project, supported by the Netherlands Spark Foundation, start-up entrepreneurs, individual investors (business angels) and institutional early stage investors from Romania and 6 other South East European countries (Bosnia&Hertzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montengro, Serbia ) expressed their views on the general entrepreneurial and investment environment in their respective countries facilitating the development of high growth potential start-ups.

Consideration on Romanian companies investor readiness within the project were based on questionnaires collected from about 15 SMEs, and from representatives of business incubators, online portals for entrepreneurs and business angels included , Cristina Alexandru (project manager at startups.ro), Marius Ghinea (serial entrepreneur and business angel), Paul Svasta (incubator mentor), Vlad Pascu (manager of Baia Mare Technological and Business Incubator) or Radu Ticiu (executive manager, Timisoara Software Business Incubator).
